Help us move to a better location!

Hello! My name is J.T. Centonze and I am the owner of Off Kilter Kilts , the only multi-brand modern kilt store in the U.S. (that I know of). We have been presented with an opportunity to move from our current location in East Pasadena, CA to a much better location in the downtown area. The new location offers regular pedestrian traffic in the thousands/day and exposure to tens of thousands of vehicles. We have been building our business for a year and a half through social networks and word-of-mouth, but our current location has no foot traffic (and as many small business owners know - advertising is incredibly expensive).

This opportunity is something we need to move relatively quickly on, which is why we're asking for help. We're not the only business looking at this space, and it is impossible to predict when we'll have another chance like this. We need to be able to claim this space within the next two weeks to have a good shot at it. If we had months to prepare for this, we'd be able to save up, and if we were a little older business, we'd seek conventional funding, but we've been unable to secure a loan due to our relatively short tenure.Off Kilter Kilts was founded on the principle of "Liberty from the tyranny of pants." Over the past year and a half, we have liberated thousands, and we'd like to bring that message to more people. This new store, located directly on the Rose Parade route (and on Route 66) will give us the platform we need to -er- expose many more people to the benefits of kilts.

We are asking for $20,000. We need to cover the expenses of moving, first and last months' rent, and the costs associated with leaving our current location. Any excess funds will be spent on paying down start up costs, advertising, and additional inventory. If donating isn't your thing, consider visiting our website and making a purchase to support our efforts.

We are still seeking other sources of funding, but if we can't raise enough funds or miss the window to move (approximately 3/1/17), any funds raised will be used as a reserve fund for the next such opportunity.

We're in no danger of closing at the moment. Our growth is slow but steady. Moving to this new location will jumpstart our growth, and we'll be able to spread our message of #LibertyFromPants to more people. As an added bonus, the new store will be able to support more employees, contributing back to the local economy.
