In the summer of 2014, I, Zoe Wallace, was invited on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan as a student ambassador for People to People. The trip is a chance for me to travel some place completely new where the culture is rich and old customs come beautifully together with new traditions. Over a 2-week period this summer, I will embark on a journey like no other by climbing mount Fuji, visiting the Forbidden City, staying with a Japanese family and attending a Japanese school, going to kyoto, and so much more! Yet, this trip isn’t just for fun, it’s about making connections with people from all over the world and being able to understand and embrace a new culture, which is what People to People is all about. They believe that if they can educate the younger generations about different cultures, then it will in turn, make the world a better place.
The only downside to this trip is that it isn’t cheap, it costs $7,000 to be exact. It's always been a dream of mine to travel somewhere new and be immersed in such a rich and beautiful culture like Japan's. so that’s why I'm here trying to raise money in order to travel to this beautiful country and go on an adventure of a lifetime.
