Fighting for Toni

We are asking for prayers and/or donations for medical expenses for our dear friend, Toni.

On Saturday, February 28, 2015 she gave birth to her 1st child, a beautiful baby boy, Elijah Alan. After 30 hours of labor doctors decided it was time to perform a Cesarean Section. Elijah was born at 1:24pm, he was 7 pounds 12 ounces and 19 and a half inches long. A very healthly boy!!

This should be a very happy time for Toni and the rest of her family, however, things took a turn for the worst on Sunday, March 1, 2015. She was laughing and joking with her best friend and family members, being her normal happy self, when her eyes rolled back in her head and her color was completely gone. Thankfully, her best friend Amy is a Respiratory Therapist and immediatly jumped to her side performing CPR until the hospital staff came in and took over. Toni was pulseless and not breathing. They took her right in for surgery to remove what they correctly assumed was a Pulmonary Embolism,which is a blood clot that has gone to your lungs and can stop your heart. The surgery was successful but other complications had stemmed from the unfortunate event. She was found to have a lacerated liver (caused by the CPR) which would not stop bleeding, then her Kidneys started to fail, causing her to have her Bowel removed. She has been in ICU since the incident took place, hooked up to Life Support, continuous Kidney Dialysis, cooling and warming protocols, blood products, medication and fluids galore. She has been slowly responding and finally yesterday a few of her family and friends were able to see her open her eyes. She is slowly improving, however, the road to recovery is unknown. She is a new mom and should be enjoying and caring for little Elijah.

With this situation causing so many worries and challenges for Toni and her family, we want to ease their worry of her medical expenses.
