Thailand Mission Trip

It’s not often in life that a student gets presented with an opportunity like the one we will be so blessed to experience. On June 27th a group of leaders and students from Crestview Presbyterian Church of Cincinnati Ohio, will be traveling across the world to Northern Thailand, entering the city of Chaing Mai. After the total 24 hours of plane travel we will embark on a journey of a lifetime. For 10 days we will be completely out of our element far away from home literally making disciples of all nations. Working as the hands and feet of Christ we will strive to fulfill the Lord’s commandment by spreading God’s love throughout all nations.
So why Thailand you ask? Well there are many reasons why we chose Thailand. For one Thailand is located in Southern Asia, a place that has always lacked a strong Christian presence. Most of the population there is Buddhist and has never heard the story of Jesus. Thailand is also labeled as part of the 10/40 window a place of great Spiritual need throughout the entire world. Another reason is Thailand is not a country where Christians are persecuted; they celebrate religious freedom similar to the U.S. Lastly Northern Thailand is home to a large group of stateless people, especially children. These are individuals who are not granted citizenship by any of the surrounding countries, those being Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. Our group will be working with these children, many who are orphans, to educate and assist them. Therefore heightening their chances of being granted citizenship in the future and sharing the love of Jesus Christ in the process.
Many of us traveling to Thailand have been on a variety of other mission trips and leadership retreats before, allowing us to be heavily prepared for what is to come. Yet we need your help! Obviously a trip of this magnitude cannot be possible without great financial support. Our goal of raising $12,500 will allow us to split $500 between all 25 of us and greatly assist our fundraising needs. But most importantly our group needs your prayers! Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God’s commandments through ministry in Thailand and without it nothing will happen. So if you would like to be part of the mission through your financial support please donate whatever amount you feel led to give.
