Our journey together started when we got married in 2013. Throughout this past year we’ve enjoyed pouring ourselves into our niece and nephews, and finding joy in being an auntie and uncle. This stirred our hearts to one day starting our own family. It was here we began our journey towards having a baby.

After numerous tests and countless doctor appointments, we were told that the only way we would be able to conceive a child was through IVF (InVitro Fertilization). It’s considered extreme in the world of infertility treatments but has the highest rate of success compared to other procedures.

After a lot of prayer and seeking the advice of others, we decided to move forward with IVF in the hope of getting pregnant. During the process however mistakes were made, and Carolyn’s estrogen levels became dangerously high. The doctor quickly removed all the mature eggs. We were thrilled to hear the news that we had 8 embryos that had fertilized. A couple months later we implanted 2 embryos but neither of them resulted in a pregnancy.

We spent the next few months praying and seeking God’s plan for our journey.  We met with the doctor that performed our procedure and felt that we could no longer continue with this doctor.  We started to ask God where we should take our remaining 6 embryos and how to proceed.

We soon discovered an experienced clinic that specialized in our age demographic.  God delivered us a doctor in Newport Beach, California only 20 minutes away from Carolyn’s sister.  Dr. Anderson spent time skyping with us and learning our story. With this news we decided to try again with our last embryo. Unfortunately, this did not result in a pregnancy therefore creating more heartbreak and frustration.   The remaining embryos were deemed unusable and we were left devistated.

We spoke with Dr. Anderson and he expressed so much sympathy and compassion with regards to our situation.  He did explain to us however that despite the past difficulties he felt we were still excellent candidates for IVF.  He encouraged us to try one more egg retrieval and see how many embryos we could get given his expertise with our age group.

We have poured our hearts out to the Lord and asked if we should embark on this journey one last time.  Should we once again have our faith pushed to the limit and hope that God will bless us with a child?  We prayed that God would show us if we should close this door or give it one final chance.  We feel God’s pull on our hearts to try the entire process one last time using this specialist.

This summer Carolyn will go stay with her sister while she goes through the egg retrieval in hopes that there will be more genetically acceptable embryos.  Afterwards we will implant and see if this will result in a successful pregnancy.  We have to date, saved and spent over $20,000 dollars with no results.  We will continue to save but unfortunately we will not be able to save enough before the summer begins.

We ask for any financial support that you can give to our IVF fund but more importantly we ask for your prayers.  We can’t wait to share the news with everyone when we do get to announce that we are on the road to beginning a family!

Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.”  Matthew 19:26 (MSG)
