Tumor Termination Renovation

Donation protected
David and I started our Honeymoon trip on June 21st 2014 were were set out to ride from Quesnel, British Columbia to New Brunswick on our motorcycles via Quebec and the Island of Newfoundland. During our trip my leg started to become very sore and swollen. On June 28th we decided to stop at the hospital in Timmins Ontario as by now my left leg was twice the size of my other. After series of tests the following day we were told that I had cancer; liposarcoma and that our honeymoon trip was over. I flew back to Prince George the very next day while David made arrangements for my bike to be put on a truck and prepared himself to ride home. When I returned I had many doctor appointments and started 5 weeks of radiation. Surgery was set for November 13, 2014 at Vancouver General Hospital with 4 different surgeons. During the surgery they discovered another tumor that was 21.5 cm long along with the already diagnosed 12.5 cm tumor. The surgery turned out to be 16 hours long which left me with a vascular bypass, permanent swelling and nerve damage to my left leg as well as the removal of my lymph nodes. I was recovering in Vancouver General Hospital for 3.5 months and then transferred to University Hospital of Northern BC where I was finally discharged as an out patient on March 3rd, 2015. I'm still am healing from an infection I got in one of the incisions and a bed sore from not being turned in bed and because of this I will have to continue getting my dressings healed for about another couple of months.

David and I both do not like asking for help but it has come to the point where we need to ask now as our financial situation is in a bad way due to the expenses we have incurred so far on this long journey and there’s a long way to go too. In order for me to safely return to my home, our bathroom needs to be redone in order to accommodate the walker that I need to walk and stand with. We will need to install a walk-in shower with grab bars and a seat. A taller toilet will also have to be installed. In addition to the bathroom upgrade, I will need a higher reclining chair for the living room, improved railings and possibly ramps for outside and improved railings for inside as well.

We appreciate all the help and support we have received from family and friends so far and we sincerely thank you for any financial help that you could give us.
