Zambia's NoPro Camp GLOW 2014

Hello everyone! In December, the Peace Corps Volunteers of Northern Province, Zambia will be hosting a Camp GLOW! GLOW, or Girls Leading Our World, is a Peace Corps initiative developed to empower young women and encourage gender equality in developing countries. Here in Zambia, the inequality between men and women are still prominent. Hence, through one week of camp, Peace Corps Volunteers along with peer educators will help young girls from different villages to be better equipped in dealing with the challenges they will face. We will empower the girls by teaching them on how to be assertive and confident, to focus on their goals, and how to deal with issues such as peer pressure, safe sex, and HIV/AIDS.
In order to make this camp happen, we ask for a community contribution to help us wth buying food for the girls, lodging, arts and crafts, and transportation. We highly appreciate any help that you can contribute to make this happen for the girls. Once GLOW is finished, we will post pictures and show how much your contributions made a difference to these girls. Thank you!
