Photo Exhibition to Celebrate WOC

Nubian Nights Out (NNO) began December 2014, in the form of a group on the international networking site meetup.com. We are now a rising London-based start-up, multi-disciplined within the creative industries, including fashion, photography, music and film.
We organise group outings including film screenings, lectures, tours and exhibitions for anyone interested in learning more about the history and identity of the African / Caribbean diaspora.
We are currently in the developmental stages of building our own multimedia platforms and very own branded events, with the first being our upcoming photographic exhibition; celebrating the many unique qualities found in Black women today. This is something that could largely be argued as an issue, representation-wise, when highlighting women of colour in today’s mainstream media.
Through meeting lots of people, with each sharing similar outlooks and desires to contribute to the progression of humanity through the Arts, this in turn inspired our initiative to become creators of events such as these and affirmed their importance.
The exhibition will take place at a boutique gallery in South West London, with a private viewing on 23rd July to be followed by the public viewings available from the 24 -25th July 2015. This will subsequently be followed up by a high-end editorial coffee table book, featuring images from the exhibition as well as chosen images from our in-house photography collection, shot by NNO Member Kimberley Williams.
We have already begun to pull together resources, however, we now need your help! We aim to raise £3,500 to enable us to produce the exhibition and book to the highest possible quality in which we pride ourselves in having!
Our mission, to create a movement that transcends globally, empowering and influencing along the way.
