NMSU Choirs Spring 2015 Europe Tour

In May 2015, the University Singers of NMSU will embark on an 12-day concert tour of Germany and Prague, with planned performances in and around Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin, Halle and Prague. We begin as musical ambassadors by spending three days of cultural exchange with our Las Cruces Sister City in Nienburg, Germany. Then together we will walk through history, performing in places like St. Thomaskirche where Bach composed so much of his inspired choral music; Marktkirche in Halle where Handel was baptized and first began organ lessons and Prague, where Dvorak created many of his masterpieces.

As you might suspect, a tour of this size and scope is an expensive undertaking.  The total cost of the trip is approximately $3,600 per student, which covers airfare, ground transportation, housing and two meals per day. The students are expected to pay roughly one-half of this fee, purchase one meal per day, secure a U.S. passport and provide for personal spending money while abroad.  This experience will be an additional expense for our students, who are already financially invested in their educations at New Mexico State University.
