There Will Be Life - Alone

Our world is dying. More accurately, we're killing it. Our unconscious addiction to "more", our thoughtless persuit of money, our addiction to technology and progress, and the mistaken belief that we are somehow not connected to the natural world around us, all are conspiring to destroy the beautiful, God-given biosphere we inhabit.
This campaign is my venue to voice my anger, my saddness and the subtle desperation I feel over this human-designed situation, and through it, I will try and bring more awareness to the situation.
This first portrait in my series "There Will Be Life" (this is the working title) is called, "Alone". It's about our our seperateness from our natural world even as we engage in that most natural act of reproduction.
This project is #1 of 12 in my new series about how human addiction to technology is destroying our environment and, ultimately, ourselves.
This money will help me continue to work as an artist and do my small part to make the world a better place by paying for new equipment, costs associated with producing a shoot (things like paying my model and assistant, permits, parking and other expenses), and child care.
The next in the series will be called "Myselfie" and will feature a woman standing, oblivious, in a ruined environment taking a selfie. The costs associated with "Myselfie" are broken down below:
$1,800 - lens specifically for environmental photos.
$500 - food, gas, and miscelaneous
$500 - location fee
$300 - model salary
$200 - makeup designer
$200 - props
Total cost - $3500
What's in it for you? Aside from feeling good about helping the world by helping an artist bring awareness to our environment, there's a few perks:
1) A contribution of $1,000 or more will get you a conceptual, environmental portrait session with me and framed, signed 20X30" wall art from that shoot.
2) Anybody who donates $500 or more will get a signed, framed 10X15" print from the project they helped fund.
3) Any individual who contributes $250 or more will get a signed, framed 8X10" print from one of the projects you helped fund.
Everybody who donates will have their name included on the "thank you" page that will be added to my website and blog when this campaign is concluded.
When this series is completed, I will find a gallery to show my work and get press to spread the word.
I am constantly improving myself as a creative technician, and am actively seeking representation. If you know anybody who can get me an introduction, hook a brother up!
I am an independent artist and daddy of two lovely little girls. I work hard as a "gun for hire" photographer shooting weddings, bar mitzvahs, real estate, products, and family photos to put food on the table. I have little time or money for my own creative endeavors, let alone to change the world. You can help.
