Family on Mission: Beach Reach 2015

Greetings all! My children and I have been given an incredible opportunity.... in one week my two college children and I will have the privilege of joining my husband and the BSM students from UTSA to serve over Spring Break and I would like to ask that you consider partnering with me that we might not only go, but grow and be used by God in wonderful ways.
March 7-13th I will be going to South Padre Island, Texas to serve on the Beach Reach Team. Over four hundred Christian students from across Texas will be sharing Christ's love with Spring Breakers. Now, before anyone gets the idea that this is a beach resort trip.... let me explain. This week will be about working the night shift, providing safe rides, feeding students literally and spiritually and giving counsel to young people who have gone to South Padre to party, but may very well find Christ while there. Beach Reach is real and students from all over are saved and come to know Christ in a meaningful way.
For the past thirty years, Beach Reach has shared Jesus with college students going to South Padre. Last year over 1,200 students made professions of faith in Christ and over thirty five students were baptized at the end of the week, making their profession of faith public. Over 1,600 students were served meals each night between midnight and 3:00 a.m., and while being served, the Good News of Jesus Christ was also shared.
The city of South Padre Island issued a commendation of appreciation to Beach Reach last year and everyone from the city council to the police department is thankful for the Christian students who come to South Padre to be salt and light. I am not asking you to send me and my children to the Beach for Spring Break! I am asking you to help us go to South Padre during that time so that we might be missionaries for the week with other students from UTSA and across Texas.
I am excited about this trip for a variety of reasons. One, I've not had opportunity to serve alongside my husband as his helpmate in many years while he has been involved in Student Ministry.... he has a big job and I am thrilled to be able to assist him, serve the UTSA students and those that we reach out to. Secondly, I can't even put into words the impact this week will have on my own college aged children. They both have such servants’ hearts and a passion for sharing truth - this will be a GREAT week. And lastly, we as a family will be serving together. As much as I need a "spring break" from teaching I am more than willing to give my week up to see the impact that God will have on all these students. My break is fleeting - His salvation is for INFINITY!
The UTSA students were charged with raising their own funds and now we are as well. I do apologize for it being only a 7 day fundraiser - but I know my God is BIGGER and I can't stand in his way with any doubts. There are two ways you can partner with us. I would ask that you pray about both. The first is prayer. We need people who will pray for us daily. I ask that you pray that we would be used by God and that we would grow and become more like Christ during that trip.
The second is through financial support. The cost for my children and I to go for the week is $1,000.00. That includes our transportation, room and board and meals. It would be a tremendous blessing to me to have you partner with me that we might go and support Kevin. I will be serving as 'mom' for the students for the week and Kevin's assistant. Christian and Hannah will be serving along with the other college students.
