New Soup Pot for Caritas of Austin

Donation protected
Located in downtown Austin on 7th Street, the community kitchen at Caritas of Austin (http://www.caritasofaustin.org) offers over 100,000 free meals a year to homeless and hungry people. Their main cooking appliance is a giant programmable 40 gallon soup pot that easily feeds 350 people a day. The technician says that it is on its last legs and, after the last repair, says it will fail any day.

If it does fail, that kitchen will screech to a halt. So we're going to buy them a new soup pot. Here's the best quote they've gotten: (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/238023/ElectricBidsForSoupPot.pdf)

Their current soup pot is named Francis and has lasted over 10 years. If the new one lasts as long, it will cook over 1,000,000 meals for the hungry. That comes out to about a penny and a half per meal. If you donate 20 bucks, that's over 1000 meals you've bought the hungry. $100? You've fed hungry folks more than 5000 meals.

Let's do it!
