New A/C Unit for BGC Bulloch

At the beginning of the summer, one of the 25 ton AC units died at the Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County. As a result, the main floor of the Club has been operating with insufficient AC. Not to mention that heat rises, and our administrative staff  have been cooking upstairs. We have had to limit the amount of time the kids can spend in the gym due to the heat, and have been making do with a classroom on premesis to have a cool place for the kids to go. 

In just a few short weeks, our full cadre of 300 more children will arrive at the Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County. That's over 400 kids, in one facility, with no A/C and no where else to go. We have  an A/C guy who has come to look at the system, and has made some initial repairs. However, we still are unsure if the unit is able to be completely repaired, or if we will have to get a whole new system.

Our old unit was a little over 10 years old. Realistically, we are probably in the unfortunate circumstance of having to purchase a new unit at $25,00-$30,000. This is quite an expense considering the insurance shortfall following the fire in the Teen Center.

We are reaching out to the community to humbly ask for your help. The Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County relies heavily on community support in order to provide after school programs to kids in our community who need it most. As you can imagine, a $25,000 expense is drastic for our club, and no A/C is just not an option in the South Georgia heat.
