Nepal Earthquake Assistance Effort

Nepal was hit by a terrible earthquake on April 25, 2015. Several people have asked us what the best way to donate is.
At this point, we recommend donating directly to Dhulikhel Hospital by making a bank transfer to the earthquake fund listed on their website. They are doing relief work in seven districts outside the Kathmandu Valley, where help is needed most.
Alternatively, you can donate to our campaign. We intend to fund local relief operations in the upcoming days and weeks by giving your donations to clinics and hospitals throughout Nepal to purchase medicine and equipment. Our friends and family members in Kathmandu have described long lines outside hospitals like TU Teaching Hospital and Kanti Children's Hospital. People have been waiting for care without food, shelter or support.
We are also looking into how we can help with logistical support. Coordinating the relief and recovery efforts can be a challenge in Nepal, especially in the villages outside the Kathmandu Valley that were hit hardest.
We will continue to work hard to identify the most effective ways to use your donations. We will do everything we can to make sure that your money does not get wasted. Thank you for your support!

About us: For those of you who do not know us and would like to know who we are before contributing, we are two Nepali professionals living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Avidit teaches at Stanford and Nripesh is the North America business manager for Singer Instruments. Nripesh is traveling to Nepal on Thursday and will take your donations with him. We both strongly believe in transparency, and we will make sure to update our donors on how and where their money was spent.
