Collier Gray is a sweet, loving and active ordinary 11 year old boy. He loves sports and playing his video games. On Feb 25th, he suffered a severe stroke. It came as a surprise to everyone because he had absolutely no major health concerns at all. What started out as a headache soon escalated into a very scary situation. He was screaming and crying and pleading for the pain to go away. He then began to throw up. The ambulance finally arrived and Collier had very shallow breathing. His left side of his face was not working and he was mumbling words that did not make sense. By 9pm on Feb 25th, Collier was in emergency surgery. The neurosurgeon removed half of his skull to alleviate the pressure and what he found was a lemon sized hematoma, deep in the middle of his brain. No wonder Collier was screaming!!! He was at Floyd Hospital for this first surgery until the next morning. He was then transferred to Childrens Health Care of Atlanta. He has had several tests run to determine what would have cause this severe stroke. The Dr.'s are very puzzled and claim that this is more prevalent in 80 year olds and that it is nearly unheard of for an 11 year old to go through this. Collier's road to recovery is going to be very long.
