Hello, my name is Anthony, although for most of my adult life, people have called me Ripper. It goes back to my guitar playing from years back. A friend said the way I played, I would rip the strings off the guiter, so he called me Ripper and it stuck. I have been on dialysis for just about 5 years. I started on Sept 10th, 2010.

My kidneys failed due to high blood pressure, which I didn't know I had. I suffered a heart attack on Dec 23rd, 2008 and found out about my poor kidney function while in the hospital. Over the next year or so, my kidney function was actually improving until a doctor and a water pill he put me on finished my kidneys off for good.

I recently found out about this stem cell research to restore my kidney function, but since the treatment is experimental, it is not covered by insurance. Since I cannot work because of my kidney disease and dialysis, I cannot afford to pay for this research, so I made this page, hoping to get help to get this treatment.
