Raise Awareness for Nanking Massacre

Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust
The Nanking Massacre was a period of time during World War II in which the Japanese army conducted mass murder and mass rape against innocent Chinese civilians. It is estimated that between 40,000 and 300,000 Chinese civilians and disarmed combatants were brutally murdered over the course of just six weeks. These victims were killed in the most horrific ways imaginable, including but not limited to beheading, burying alive,  being torn apart by dogs, burning alive, and mutilation. People of all ages were targeted, for victims ranged from very young infants to the elderly.
Rape was especially rampant, for the International Military Tribunal for the Far East estimated that about 20,000 women were raped.  Children were not spared from these horrors and were sometimes cut open to allow the soldiers to rape them. Reflecting on his role in the atrocities, one Japanese soldier stated, "After we raped them, we killed them because dead bodies don't talk."
Up to this day, the Japanese government continues to visit shrines honoring the war criminals who carried out these atrocities. Unlike the German government, which has acknowledged its Nazi past by apologizing and making reparations to the survivors of the Holocaust, the Japanese government still refuses to acknowledge the full extent of the atrocities committed in Nanking. Some Japanese government officials even go as far as to deny the existence of the Nanking massacre. Many Japanese schools have also whitewashed this event from their textbooks in an attempt to ensure that future generations remain unaware of these horrors.
Please help raise awareness for the horrific event by donating and/or sharing this link with the people you know. Proceeds will go to the Nanjing Massacre Memorial in Nanjing. Please see the following link to learn more about this memorial:
