Nadia's Soft Smiles

Nadia is a 9 yr old who lives in Painesville Ohio. One day we were watching an episode of Ellen (she loves Ellen-she is her role model, she loves Twitch and all the dancing) On this episode there was a boy around her age that had his own charity. He filled paper bags with food and other items for the homeless. Nadia just didn't understand how someone her age could have a charity. She wanted to help people and as soon as she saw it was possible for kids her age to make a difference there was no stopping her. She was up all night trying to think of what her charity was going to be called. She came up with Nadia's Soft Smiles. Now, what to do?? Her 4th grade teacher Mrs. Rowles helped come up with the sock drive. The number one item for people in need are new clean socks. They set a goal of 200 pairs of socks. The smile on her face and in her heart was brighter than the sun. I made up a little picture on my phone and put it on facebook. Her teacher told us in conferences that Nadia is on of the most empathetic kids she has come across. Our family doesn't have much to give but as she said-"We don't have a lot but there are kids who need more." We are blessed with such a determined girl who will move mountains one day!! Thank you to everyone who has encouraged her heart. This is not an annual thing for her. Kids are always in need, she wants to continue collecting and expand from just socks to other items. Any money she collects will be used to buy new items (socks and underwear are items most needed) for children or used to start her charity. Thank you again and God bless!!
