Capt. Angela Hays Memorial Fund

Angela Hays was a Captain for the Pearland EMS. She joined in 2006 and served selflessly until liver and duct cancer rendered her unable.

She was diagnosed in January, 2014 with Stage 3 Liver Cancer and later with bile duct cancer, which metastasized (thus knocking her off of the transplant list) and ended up taking her life 13 months later on February 22, 2015.

She had been in the middle of reconciliation with her ex-husband and the father of her 5 year-old daughter Audrey when he suddenly passed away from complications of diabetes in October, 2014.

Little Audrey is now with Angie's sister Samantha and her fiance in Austin. The couple has no children of their own, and while they are happy to have Audrey, the expenses of a young child were very unexpected.

This bright light in Pearland was taken too quickly. The family was unprepared for two losses in 4 months. The community is shaken and Pearland Fire/EMS is in mourning.
