Dickens Handchime Choir Fundraiser

The Dickens Handchime Choir is composed of home school students (K-12th grades) from the HOPE Music Program in Garden Grove, California. Dressed in early Victorian attire and presenting a variety of Christmas music, this group delights all those who see and hear their handchime performances! The Dickens Handchime Choir has been invited to participate as a "Showcase Performing Group" at the Handbell Musicians of America National Convention in Texas! We are actively working on fundraising to get our group of 19 performers to Dallas in July 2015!
The 'handchimes' that the children play are square metal tubes with external clappers. These instruments are similar to handbells, but are lighter in weight & easier to play. (And also a lot cheaper to purchase!) We are honored to be able to showcase a three-octave set of Malmark Choirchimes that are being loaned to us for the performance in Texas by the Malmark Company of Plumsteadville, PA!
The Dickens Handchime Choir has performed at many venues during the nine years of their existence:
* Sunday morning worship services for local churches,
* Huntington Library & Gardens Family Christmas Celebration,
* Long Beach/Signal Hill Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and "Prince of Peace" Christmas Pageant,
* Temecula Riverside County Republican Federated Women's Christmas luncheon,
* Crystal Cathedral Sunday evening service,
* Disneyland Community Arts Showcase! (The Community Arts Showcase at Disneyland is an auditioned event for local performing groups. It is very competitive, as those who are chosen get to perform inside the park, and are given free admission for the day! The Dickens Handchime Choir has been chosen for eight years in a row!)
