Help Me Hike The Long Trail

Hello!
My name is Marie and it has always been a dream of mine to be able to hike the Long Trail. The Long Trail is a portion of the Appalachian Trail that runs from the Massachusetts border of Vermont to the Canadian Border of Vermont. The trail is 272 miles through the mountains.
This summer may be the only chance that I have to achieve my goal since the hike has been known to take a month or more. It will be my last summer before I graduate from college and probably the only time I will have the time to do it since I will be starting a career soon.
I do not come from a rich family, I grew up moving from house to house and ultimately ended up living in a trailer with my mom who worked two jobs to support my sister and I, as much as she would like to assist me in these expenses she is unable. Since I am a full time college student I do not have the time to take on work and any money I do make ends up going into my schooling expenses. I am asking for help in affording my gear such as a quality backpack, a water filter, a quality sleeping bad, a shelter and so on.  I will also be bringing my dog Kipper for as long as he can handle it and it is extremely important to me that he has the supplies he needs to be comfortable and safe.
