Help Me Open a Foster Home

Hello!

My name is Zachary Crabtree. For the past 3 years, I have worked with troubled children and youth, ages 6-16, in a residential treatment setting. During my time there, I have served many children and families coming from various backgrounds and circumstances. Through this, I have come to appreciate the need and value of a safe, consistent, and loving home environment; that it is crucial for healthy development. Residential has its purposes, but nothing beats the most natural setting possible. I am seeking to raise money for a down payment, and furnishings for a home in Anchorage, Alaska. I would like to open a foster home for boys ages 10-18 years old; who are statistically harder to find placements.

My financial goal is: $17,500.00. The breakdown of this amount is as follows:

$10,000.00- Down Payment and Reserves/ Emergency Costs
$5,000.00- Furniture, Linens, Household Supplies, and Safety Modifications for licensure
$2,500.00 Activity fund for kids- Sports equipment, Instruments, etc. Anything in excess of my goal will be split between activity fund (75%), and an account for home repairs (25%).
