Creating Connections with Art

Mission Statement:
"Empowering the creative to reunite in society by Creating Connections with their artwork, while encouraging the voiceless to become leaders, teachers, and believers while achieving their goals."
The specific purpose of Creating Connections is educational and charitable!
Educational: To teach, guide, encourage positive attitudes and increased self-esteem, build family values, and modify the behavior and social skills of persons who are re-entering society from correctional facilities via the therapeutic powers of art.
This includes teaching society about art as a form of rehabilitation; supplying individuals with a place to learn, express themselves, explore their abilities, showcase and promote their artwork, and connect with the general artistic community; providing discussion groups, forums, panels, lectures, and other programs about the healing powers of the arts; and instilling the importance of providing opportunities to all types of artists.
Where are we now:
With the help of Urban Law Group we are officially a Nonprofit organization! We need a physical address to do the next step!
We have found the space that we would like to rent and renovate for this program... once the funding comes in we will secure the building and start getting it ready to serve others!
Our first goal is to raise $50,000 to get this grassroots Organization off the ground. What would $50,000 do for us?
Rent the facility that would have an art studio where classes and creation can happen, a gallery area to showcase the work, and as office area. (secure it for six months)
Renovate the facility with proper storage, lighting and other small amenities that would enhance the area for artist to use.
Purchase tables, art equipment (pottery wheels, kilns, cameras, ) and art supplies (paints, canvases, clay, tools, easles, paper) there would be a lot more supplies needed as we find out the different talents and needs of the artist coming to the center.
Create a sign for the front of the facility

Legal fees, liability insurance
Cover utilities until we are fully up and running Creating Connections
We are setting a deadline of 30 days for this goal.
So far we have three on the board of directors and we are accepting applications for two more board members to join us!
