This is the story of Wear we Wander, an ethical fashion label designed in Ireland and carefully produced in Bali by local artisans.
I am a small fashion business based in the stunning West Cork town of Kinsale, with humble beginnings my owner, Bronwyn has built me up for the last 2 years with blood, sweat, tears and plenty of laughs along the way.
Its been Bronwyn's childhood dream to have her own fashion label and when she hit 30, she decided to throw caution to the wind, give up her good and well paying job to pursue her passion of fashion and so was the birth of Wear we Wander, however Wear we Wander is no ordinary fashion label, oh no, here at Wear we Wander we believe that as well as looking good, we can do good too and we invented "No Sweat, Just Sparkle" policies, meaning that none of our clothing gets produced in Sweat Shops and that Wear we Wander workers are treated fair & right, paid a living wage and more importantly that they love what they do! So here at Wear we Wander we work closely with a team of women in Bali and our goal is to impower those women through fashion, encourage them to shine and sparkle and one day own a fashion label of their own.
We have huge dreams here at Wander HQ and we firmly believe that we can change the world one dress at a time, and I know that our Wander Boss, Bronwyn will continue to put every ounce of energy into turning this dream into a realilty and will not stop until she has succeeded. She firmly believes in Fashion for Good and that even if just once, everyone purchased a item of clothing that supported workers, causes and charities, the world would be a better place!
This year we want to take our little Irish Company Global and attend trade shows in the USA & Berlin. We want to spread the good word and show the world that we are serious about helping change the world, one dress at a time, We want to show buyers and boutiques all over the world that they have a fashionable, ethical & affordable choice available to them and that fashion can help make the world a better place.
Our problem, well like most buisnesses, is money, and although we have a solid business plan, more drive and determination that any other little company we know, and the neck of giraffe, we still do not have the funds to persue the dream. Irish Banks are still not leading to SME's and most definitely not to a unknown fashion label who wants to change the world one dress at a time! As we all know Banks are about $$$$$$s, and although of course yes we want to make $$$$$$s and of course we will make $$$$$$s, can we not be kind with them along the way? We want to reinvest those $$$$$$s into people, into lifes and in turn into economies... is that not what business should be about?
So we are turning to asking for random acts of kindness to help fund us, to help our Wander Boss Bronwyn turn her dream into a reality, to help this little business grown and grow and to of course try save the world one dress at a time!
And we of course understand that money is hard earned by everyone so we are not looking for handouts, we are offering some really nice Wander goodies as rewards, so its a win win for everyone involved!
