My school volunteer trip to Kenya

Donation protected
I am a 15 year old student..
I am looking for help with funding a volunteer expedition to Kenya in Africa in June 2018.

This year I am asking if you would help me with my passion to help others less fortunate than me.

In Kenya 51% of the people live in poverty.
With a population of 47 million thats a huge amount of people!  The life expectancy here is very low and 42% of the population are children under 15!

There is little access to clean water, proper sanitation, healthcare and education are often very limited or non-existent.

When I go to Kenya I will be helping the children  I meet, many of them orphans.  Simple things like giving them attention, compassion, hope, encouragement, support and love.  I will also help with the children’s daily routine and then teach or help the children that need extra help during school hours. Volunteers can also plan special activities and experiences - trips out, parties, sports days etc.  I hope to help the children to become empowered to face the challenges of their life, poverty and possible exploitation.

The Project work I will be involved in will also  include  low-level construction work, building school desks, painting classrooms or constructing water tanks. There will also be plenty of wildlife and environment focused projects to contribute to, from reforesting damaged areas, maintaining wildlife perimeter fences to making elephant deterrents.

I would love to exceed the money needed so that I can help buy things for people that really need them.

Previous Volunteering:
In 2015 (Age 14) I travelled to India and self raised all of the money, I did this by doing bootfairs, jobs around the house for my parents, friends and family.  I bought sweets from the wholesalers that my dad took me to and re sold them at school performances.  I secured myself a Saturday job, and took any extra days they offered me through my half terms and summer holidays and I used 100% of any money I earned to pay for the expedition.  I raised more money then I needed and used the extra to buy  underwear for the 80 children at the project we worked on.  It seems like a small thing but they were so happy to have pants, they had so little.

I am asking for your help this time in addition to the things I will be doing as before because this year I am doing my GCSE's and do not have the amount of free time I had last time.  The amount of revision I need to do is crazy!

Anyway

Here are some pictures from my volunteering in India:

and of course the pants :)

I would be so happy and greatful if you can help me with this.  No matter how small the donation every little helps!

Thank you so so so so so much in advance and eternally greatful.

(ps. If you have any questions please do ask)
