Buddhism In North America
Donation protected
Buddhism is the third largest faith in the United States and Canada and has flourished here for over 150 years.
Many countries have their own flag representing Buddhism. Most use the 'universal' Buddhist flag with minor variations.
I have designed a flag representing Buddhism in the United States and Canada to be flown outside temples, Dharma centers, and Buddhist practitioners homes. This is a unique design that incorporates traditional elements in a new and vibrant way.
The border of the flag is designed from the "universal' Buddhist flag. These colors represent the aural colors of the Buddha when he achieved enlightnemnt beneath the Bodhi Tree.
The deep blue center color of the flag represents the universe and depth of Buddhist practice.
The gold Dharma Whel in center is one of the most common symbols of Buddhism. The three colors in the center (hub) of the wheel are the primary colors of the flags of the United States and Canada.
I am in need of help to manufacture the first flags of this project. The first flag made will be flown at a major Temple in the United States, and the second made will be flown in Canada on the same day. Another flag will be presented as a gift to H.H. The Dalai Lama on his next visit to North America.
All donors to this project will recive a small handheld flag that you can display and keep as a token of your generosity and compassion.
