For Love Of The Game

I am uploading this in high hopes of raising enough money to start a youth baseball niche.  I grew up in a small town where gang activity was prevalent and unavoidable for many young adults.  Baseball helped my family and friends find an outlet that helped many of us get through major issues in our community.  I am very fortunate to have a family who supports me and introduced sports into my life; many of my peers weren’t as lucky.  I have always wanted to give back as a way of saying thank you to those who helped me along the way.

  As I pursue an education I would like to put some time aside and share the game of baseball with the youth in the community.  I’ve been a part of baseball for over 17 years now; happily played a year of college baseball at Hartnell College. I’m NSFH certified to coach high school baseball and I am confident I can help others get to the next level and have a fun time doing it.  I have a couple years of coaching experience working with boys from the ages of 6-18.  This would be free of charge; currently reside in San Luis Obispo, Ca and would love to reach out to the community.

 I plan on doing this in every city I reside in as I work towards receiving my bachelor’s degree in environmental resource management.  I intend on putting aside 2-4 hours on Saturdays and Sundays when I’m not working or going to school.  With the help of former teammates and supportive parents this will be a great experience for everyone.  The moment I meet my goal I will set up an account and create a group on meetup.com  in order to get the word out and set times, dates, and locations.  The money would go towards equipment like baseballs, batting tees, helmets, screens, agility cones, whiffle balls, etc. as well as help pay for reservation fees.  Thank you for taking the time to read this, which in itself shows you care.  Every dollar counts.
