Chris' Hope Internship
Hi Everyone!
My name is Chris Zapata and I am currently a second year English major at the University of Ottawa. This summer I'll be volunteering/ interning at Help Them Hope, a not-for-profit organization based in Lima, Peru. This organization, created by John Whelan in 2009, provides resources, support, and programs to youth, young adults, and adults with disabilities.
Hope offers these programs and scholarships for people who would otherwise not have the opportunity to get an education, create a career, or one day live independently.
Thus, aiming to empower people with disabilities through education, independent living, and inclusive services.
I more than happy to be working for such an inspirational and empowering company. That being said, it is very expensive to fly, live, and volunteer in Peru.
This is where you all come in!
Every small donation adds up and counts to make a difference.
Further, as a future teacher I know the importance of educating youth. That is why I have decided to create a yearly scholarship program that I, with your help, will fund. I hope to raise money and awareness, and sponsor a child or young adult who wishes to make a difference.
Together we can Help Them Hope
This video will give you a bit of information about what Help them Hope attempts to achive.
