We are a non-profit community radio station serving Alpine, California.
Our area has has been economcally challenged for some time and we have not been able to meet expenses to serve our community. Since we are a non commercial station, we can't really sell advertising like traditional radio stations. We don't receive Federal funding either. A small group of local underwriters have helped, but we are now reaching out to you for help. We operate
on a budget of less than $50,000 and last year we missed breaking even by 40%.
Our station is LOCAL! All the programming is done here in Alpine and we have some great local community talk programs in the evening focusing on everything from health and wellness to comedy to a rockin' Saturday night. We also feature local artists all hosted by volunteer show hosts.
Our area has a very high threat of wildfires and this station is an important outlet for getting safety information to the community.
In addition to meeting our basic day to day expenses, we have some additional projects that need funding. We would like to purchase a generator for our transmitter site to supply emergency
back up power. We would also like to have some work done to our broadcast van that had equipment stolen during a break in last year. This caused us to miss out on Little Leauge baseball this season which is a community favorite.
