2/2/2016 Update:

The day we never wanted to come has come.  The cancer has returned and there are no more treatments options.  The doctors says that Molli has a few more months before she leaves us.

Chris, her amazing husband, has decided to take a leave of absences from work to spend every day with Molli until there are no more days left.

Molli and Chris need your help more then ever now.  Chris' leave will be unpaid.  They will be relying on Molli's small social security check the the money you all contributed last year.

We need to do one last big fundraising push so that Chris can focus on Molli and not worry about paying rent and buying food.

Please do what you can.

If you would like to send checks directly to them to avoid the 3.5% gofundme service fee, or send food or other gifts, please e-mail me at [email redacted] and I will send you thier home address.

Good Bless you.

Everything in Molli’s life was going great.  Her and her husband Chris and their two dogs Dharma and Manalo had settled into their new life in Charlotte, NC after relocating with the company the two worked for in South Florida.  A certified yoga instructor herself, Molli became actively engaged with her local Yoga studio where she traded out time at the front desk for classes. After 4 years of being married to love of her life, Molli and Chris began planning to start expanding their little family.

Last summer, Molli began to experience on and off again abdominal pain.  Tests were ordered, but the most important tests had not yet been approved by insurance. Over the next six months, the pain flared up and subsided with no conclusive medical explanation.

Then the unthinkable happened.   One day in November 2014, Molli turned yellow and was rushed to the emergency room. It was in the emergency room that Molli learned that a tumor on her pancreas was blocking the bile duct leading from her liver to her pancreas causing her to become jaundice.

A temporary shunt would be inserted into the duct until further tests could be run.  We prayed, we cried, we hoped, we supported each other hoping that the tumor would be benign.  It wasn’t. At 32 years old, Molli was diagnosed with Stage 2B Adenocarcenoma Pancreatic Cancer. As soon as surgery could be scheduled, Molli underwent a complicated Whipple surgery to remove her tumor on 12/11/14. The tumor, along with Molli’s gallbladder, and parts of her stomach, pancreas, and small intestines were removed. Cancer cells had spread to her lymph nodes; those too were removed.

For those of you wondering how bad Molli’s situation really is, all I can say is that it doesn’t get much worse. A simple google search of Stage 2B Adenocarcenoma Pancreatic Cancer will fill in the gaps. The hard truth is that the 5 year survival rate for Molli’s form of cancer is very, very low.

The only solutions available to prolong her life are months of chemotherapy and radiation. Even still, Molli almost certainly faces a reoccurrence of cancer within the next 5 years. Despite this ill-fated news, Molli’s spirits have remained high, and her positivity is a beacon of hope to her friends and family. She is a true inspiration to us all.

At 32 years old, Molli—who never experienced any health complications— was advised to begin chemotherapy and radiation immediately but Molli had other plans.  She wanted to ensure that should she have to leave her beloved husband before her time, she would leave him with a piece of her to love and cherish always.  Molli underwent fertility treatment and had her eggs harvested. Out of 11 eggs, 5 were mature enough to freeze. We hope that a future post will bring the joyful news of a baby.

The journey of treatment, recovery, and monitoring will be an expensive one.  Already medical bills are mounting. It is unlikely that Molli will be able to return to work leaving her husband Chris to support the both of them. As Molli’s husband, Chris will also be forced to take time away from the office without pay to care for Molli when she is unable to care for herself. We are asking for your donations to help cover the costs of surgeries, treatments, medicine, supplies, etc. that their insurance company will not cover.

Anyone who knows these two lovebirds has experienced joy and selflessness in its truest form. For all they have given the world, they deserve a little help. Please help us in our efforts to ensure they continue to thrive together, shining their light upon us all as they do so well without the added hurdle of financial hardship. All donations, big and small, are welcome.

Please help us reach this goal - for Molli to receive the best treatment that can prolong her life, so that she may be a part of our lives for as long as possible.

In Molli's words, "Oceans of love" to you all. Thank you for your kindness.
