Mobility for Izaac

On the 23rd of December 2013 Izaac had a catastrophic head injury at 18 months of age. The doctors fought to save his life, his heart stopped 3 times during the first few hours, but Izaac is a fighter. He was in ICU for a month were they monitored the swelling in his brain. The swelling was so severe the doctors removed a part of his skull to give his brain the space to recover. Izaac spent 5 months at Westmead hospital and was then moved to The Royal Women’s and children’s hospital. He spent a month there doing physio and speech . When Izaac finally came home to Rockhampton he was amazing, even though he couldn’t move himself, eat solid food , he was on thickened fluids and unable to sit unaided he was alive and smiling. Izaac is now 7 and although he is still being fed he is able to eat anything and drinks thin fluids. Izaac can sit unaided and can move himself on the floor. He goes to school and is the most beautiful, loving, cheeky little boy you could ever meet. Izaac was non verbal when he came to live with us, but now, wow, he talks and sings nonstop all day. With the help of family and hospitals and CPL Izaac is enjoying life with grandma, granddad, his twin sister, big sister and brother and all his uncles and aunties . The reason why I am asking for help is Izaac is in a wheelchair and I can no longer lift him in and out of our car. Izaac needs a wheelchair accessible car so he can continue to be able to go out with his family and not have to stay home
