Washroom facilities 4 the homeless

I live in the beautiful city of Chilliwack, BC, Canada. I was recently appalled by actions our city council and mayor took to force homeless out of an area they used as shelter. Their justification for it was because the "fecal matter" and "used needles" that littered the area. Although I agree that fecal matter and used needles contain disease, their solution does nothing to address the problem. It seems to be only an attempt to push the problem elsewhere. In the short term, I would like to obtain a small parcel of land and set up porta potties and also disposal facilities for their needles to begin to address these issues. As the program receives more support, I would like to look into permanent facilites that address the issue at hand. It is bad enough the stigma the homeless face. Let's give them the opportunity to have some dignity and show responsibility for disposing their needles in a safe manner.

I put a low figure on this campaign to get the program started. This is a project that will require much more as the hope is to spread this to other communities in need. This is simply a starting point.

The problem is not going away and is only getting worse. All we can do to this point is learn to coexist peacefully with the less fortunate and work together towards a solution. Thank you for your time and donations.
