Help sponsor me, Miss Pennsylvania Plus America to compete for the Miss Plus America title July 1-5, 2014 in Atlanta, GA! Be sure to check out the reward levels below!
As many of you know, I am currently self-employed and working on launching a few different business ideas. While I have plenty of time to prepare for this event, I need financial support to be able to accomplish this goal. There is a hefty entry fee for the state pageant itself and an even larger one for the national competition, plus the cost of an evening gown, "elegant pantwear," accommodations in Atlanta, and all the accessories, shoes and makeup needed to get the full-glitz look! The cost may very well exceed the goal I have set of $1,800, but I am also committing a significant amount from my own funds, in conjunction with what I may raise here.
I competed in a few pageants as a kid and come from a pageant family (shout out to my mom who was Miss Fort Worth 1983), so I think I have a decent shot at the competition. I was selected out of 200 girls and crowned as Miss Pennsylvania Plus America 2014, and now am advancing to the national competition to vie for the role of Miss Plus America!
Why would I waste my time and money on such a frivolous goal? Well for one, it's less frivolous than it seems because it allows me to have a platform to show other women that you can be beautiful and successful at any size. I am using my pageant title to attend community events, raise money and support for Dress for Success, and show women and girls that they too can be a positive role model regardless of their size.
My chosen charitable platform for the pageant is Dress for Success, a national non-profit that transforms disadvantaged women into empowered professionals by providing image consultation and business development so that they can obtain better employment to provide for themselves and their families. Any funds raised above my goal amount will be donated to this wonderful organization!
Additionally, I hope to use this opportunity as a networking gateway so that I can expand my contacts for entrepreneurship and enhance my current business relationships. Overall, I think it would be a fantastic and uplifting experience, and I hope you'll join me in this journey!

$20 - I'll send you this scenic pic I took near Canon Beach, Oregon as a frame-ready 4x6!
For $40, you'll get a $40 credit toward anything in my Etsy shop (www.elvesgonewild.com) which includes ugly christmas sweaters, and coming soon 4th of July obnoxious Americana garb!
For $50, you can get the photo print above, a credit for my shop and this image below featuring my own photography from the Oregon Coast in January 2014 and a favorite Jack Kerouac quote in a lovely 8x10 size!
For $75, I'd love to do a custom canvas painting for you. I'm not the greatest painter, but give me a color scheme, a favorite quote, or a subject matter and I can usually crank something out that you just might want to display ;) Here's a sample of a recent wedding gift I did.
For $100, holy cow, thank you so much! I would love to make you a pair of my handpainted slip-on shoes. I can do the logo and colors of your favorite sports team, or just a general cool pattern. Here's a sample of some Orioles ones I did. Please send me your shoe size for this reward! Note- I can also hand paint a pair of Toms if you prefer, but I would need you to supply the Toms as my collection of slip-ons are more affordable Toms-style knock offs :)
For $200, first of all, you're my hero. Secondly, I would love to throw a happy hour bash for you and THIRTY thirsty people! I'll provide a fancy cocktail, beer, wine and 3-5 different apps for your crowd and will come to the location of your choice and tend bar all evening. I'll make sure everyone's drinks are topped off and their tummies are full. We can even make it a fundraiser for a charity of your choice, if you prefer, and I'll arrange some great donation ideas for the attending guests to participate in!
Again, any funds raised in excess of my goal will go toward Dress for Success, but my volunteer time and platform will also help support this great cause! I am so grateful for everyone's help and encouragement, and I can't wait to make you proud! Thanks again :)
