Appeal For Assistance for the Miracle Farms families in Puerto Rico
At writing, most of our crew has had minimal communication with loved ones on the island, let alone gaining any insight as to the state of their homes and villages where they come from. The most important news is, of course, to hear that families are safe. We are only beginning to understand the extent of the devastation caused and can only imagine the length and depth of the road ahead for those who may have lost everything. Like so many of our amazing clients and community members who reached out to us to ask how they can help, we too, felt helpless doing nothing.
We have 60 plus men and women who spend 7 months of the year here. Some have been doing this for more than 15 years, working insanely hard to provide for their families in the US territory that is already burdened by billions of dollars of debt. The hurricane makes these previous problems seem surmountable.
For over 8 years, 100% of our crew has donated from their weekly paychecks to the Granite United Way Employee Contribution Program. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to give to them in this time of incredible need?
