Milly's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Homeless and out of time, Milly found herself all alone in Oklahoma with no one to love her. With the hard work and dedication of Anderson Animal Shelter, she was able to find her way up to Illinois and into a foster home that loved her, and she had a home that finally cared about her. Unfortunately, Milly’s past is something that will have a lasting effect on her. Milly has a neurological disorder that has slowly, but progressively worsened as she has gone through her puppy stages. Milly was transferred to Illinois at four months old, and now at nine months of age, she is still in a loving foster home that continues to help her strive as she grows and strengthens. Due to Milly’s neurological disorder, she has a frequent loss of balance and muscle spasms, head-tilting, a painful neck and spine, and an inability to retain weight. Although Milly has seen a neurologist, she has received inconclusive results about what is wrong. In order to better diagnosis Milly, it is recommended that she gets an MRI and spinal tap.

Anderson Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization, and Anderson relies heavily on donations to treat any sick animals. Rarely are there cases like Milly where Anderson is unable to provide the amount of money needed to follow through with the testing. Milly’s testing will cost roughly $4,000. Unfortunately, Anderson does not have the sufficient amount of funds to provide that to a single dog. Our hope is that, with help of donations, Milly will be able to have the recommended testing done to further diagnosis what is the actual cause of her symptoms. Our other hope is that, while we may not find out entirely what is wrong, it will give us a lead as to what is wrong and increase her chances of finding a home to call hers... forever.

What are your donations exactly going towards?

Your donations will provide answers for Milly. Any money raised will go towards testing with hopes finding a more conclusive diagnosis about what is causing her symptoms. With simple answers, it will increase her chances of adoptability! People will be more inclined to adopt with answers about what it means for Milly's life-span and whether or not this is a progressive issue. These donations will also help us to conclude if surgery is something worth pursuing or not. Without the testing, every conclusion is a guess. Any small donation will help and is much appreciated! Milly, her foster, and the entire team at Anderson appreciates your donations!

Please consider donating to Milly’s cause, and then share the page to get her story out (and maybe find her a home!)
