Ben Tanneberger Eagle Scout Project

My name is Ben Tanneberger and I am a 14 year old Life Scout in Troop 1987 of Lake Villa Illinois, working towards my Eagle Scout rank. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest achievement in Boy Scouts, something I have been working towards for many years. Earning my Eagle Scout will provide many unforeseen opportunities for my future. One of the requirements to obtain my Eagle Scout rank is to carry out a service project that benefits the community.
My Eagle Project is to add a visual presentation system at the historic Millburn UCC Church in Millburn, IL. Millburn Church has been my family’s church for more than 10 years. This church family has supported my family and I through difficult times, including my battle with Aplastic Anemia and my bone marrow transplant in 2012. This project means a lot to me because I want to give back to the church that supported us when we needed it.
This Eagle Project will provide a much needed upgrade to improve the presentation during services in the sanctuary. A new video system will provide dependable visuals to the audience making their experiences in the church more engaging. The church and it’s members are not the only ones who will benefit from an updated system, but so will the community which it serves.
Through fundraising, my plan is to acquire and install two large video monitors and a computer to power the system. This equipment is what would be required to make this project a reality.
Any and all donations towards this Eagle service project will be greatly appreciated, and will help me reach my goal of completing this requirement for my Eagle Scout rank. Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
