On 1/17/18, the Mertens family (Thorp, WI) suffered a devastating home fire.  Jim, Kimberly, McKenna, Paige, and Reed are thankfully all ok; however, their family home is a complete loss.

Update (1/18/18):  Yesterday, after receiving news about the fire, I felt completely helpless.  I assumed others must be feeling the same way -- which is why I started this GoFundMe campaign to support my cousin (Kimberly Mertens) and her family.

I'm completely blown away by the outpouring of love and support shown thus far! It's reassuring to know that you can count on family, friends, and the community to pull together when it's truly needed the most!

I wanted to inform the donors that I hope to work with Kim and Jim this week to set-up the necessary GoFundMe credentials needed so they may make withdrawls from this account.

Thanks again to each and every one of you for your generous donations! Please continue to share this campaign with others in hopes that we can continue to exceed our goal in support for the Mertens family!
