Men and their Sheds "“ A
photographic environmental portrait story
Objective
· To photograph men in their sheds, produce portraits
· To gather the stories of men in their sheds in audio and written form
· To produce and publish a documentary book of photographic portraits and written stories of men's sheds
· A gallery exhibition
To produce and publish a documentary book of photographic portraits and stories about men and their sheds. As a photographer, Craig's expertise in capturing the moment will be married with short stories telling of the lives of a range of men across Australian communities. It is anticipated that the stories will initially be audio recorded then transcribed to written excerpts that will be published with individual's photographs.
The emphasis of this project is to highlight the positive effects a man's shed can have on his health and life. The aim of the project is to raise community awareness of male health through the art of photography and stories of man's love of his shed.
As a culmination of the project Craig aims to produce a gallery exhibition to showcase the photographic artwork proceeds of which will be contributed to men's health programs.
