Mendez Int. School Rocket Team

The Mendez Hot Shots, from Santa Ana, California have scored in the top 100 teams in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC), earning them a trip to the Finals in Washington D.C. on May 9th 2015.
But they need your help! Team members come from a Title I school with 100% of the students receiving free lunch. The team members are fundraising like crazy, but it's not going to be enough. Thanks to the dedicated teachers and mentors, and a generous donation, they have made it this far, but these future engineers want to go all the way!
Their journey has included weekly team meetings to design and build their rocket, once a month weekend trips (2+ hours each way) to test launch their rocket and on going fundraising efforts. After a few disasters (including broken fins, a torn parachute and a dunk in Mission Bay) they had 2 amazing launches which put them in the finals!
Please help the Hot Shots make it all the way to Washington D.C.
