Barbara June Hieber (known to most as “Gaga”), 69, passed away on September 12, 2018 at Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA after an 8 ½ -month battle with colon cancer. Barbara was a previous resident of Cherry Hill, NJ, Cumming, GA, and currently has a residence in Ruskin, FL. She was born on March 20, 1949 in Toledo, OH to Anscile and Joanne Parks. Barbara graduated from Waite High School in 1967 and then attended the University of Toledo.

Barbara married Thomas Hieber in 1970 and over 35 years of marriage they had 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Barbara would most like to be remembered for her love of family, on whom she focused the majority of her time and attention. Gaga was her kids’ and grandkids’ biggest cheerleader and she made sure she was at every swim meet, gymnastics meet, football, baseball, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, or soccer game, as well as any other special event she could possibly attend (the list goes on and on). Gaga also enjoyed gardening, sewing, golfing, cooking, doing jigsaw puzzles, and making a treasure out of trash in some type of DIY project. Gaga is also proud of hiking part of the Appalachian Trail with her brother in law. Gaga loved spending time at the beach with her family and taking cruises with her sister. The family will greatly miss her sense of humor, her ability and willingness to help out with anything, and her energizer bunny spirit.

Barbara is survived by her children: Brian Hieber (Buffey), Kevin Hieber (Jody), Jeanette Osgoodby (Glenn), and Melissa Cosgriff (Rich); siblings: Carolann Rittner (Rollie) and Sandy Donahue; grandchildren: Thomas Arundale, Matthew Arundale, Alexis Osgoodby, Winston Hieber, Samantha Hieber, Nathaniel Hieber, Michael Hieber, Kian Cosgriff, Kason Cosgriff, and Davin Cosgriff.

Family and friends can visit from 2:00-2:30 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the James J Terry Funeral Home, 736 East Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA.  A time of sharing will immediately follow at 2:30 pm.
