Life is a Highway!

The mission of Melodic Connections is empowerment through music performance.  At Melodic Connections we make sure that all students who want or need access to music therapy receives it, by providing our services at low- or no- cost to the individuals and families in need.  Music therapy allows students with different learning need to access skills.  For example, at our studio, students build skills to type at a computer keyboard by first learning to play the piano.  Students learn to hold a spoon and feed themselves by first playing the drum with a mallet.  Applause heard when performing at one of our concerts gives students the courage and confidence to stand up and ask for their needs to be met!

Our students have built musical skills within the four walls of our studio.  They are now asking for more concerts, for jobs, for ways to connect with the Cincinnati community through music.  We can do it!  Right now we are traveling once per week to Cincinnati’s Music Hall to volunteer…we’re doing everything from alphabetizing May Festival folders to washing linens!  We can do more!  But to get out, we need a van!  We’ve raised $39,500 toward the purchase of two mini vans (one wheelchair accessible).  You can help us make it to our goal of $50,000!
