MDK Grilled Cheese OPENING

Friends and family,
The time has come. It's been over a year, and MDK has overcome plenty of hurdles, but we are ready to run through the finish line, but we need your help! We plan to be open the first week of October, 2014
The update
1. Catering has quadroupled in Q1 and first half of Q2
2. MDK was invited to Food Network's Food and Wine Festival, this October. We will be participating in the sandwich competition, Stacked, hosted by Robert Irvine http://nycwff.org/e/stacked:_a_sandwich_showdown-181
3. Scalability....I have been able to install and launch MDK in two different locations with Daily Press Coffee.
- The Bed Stuy location...we deliver fresh sandwiches to the cafe and they press them per order, their orders grew by 200% within in two weeks.
- The Williamsburg location...we installed a small kitchen space, where we will be featuring our grilled cheese sandwiches and soon salads, and wraps.
4. The brick and mortar...we are closing up the build out process in a couple weeks, and we are looking to open beginning of October. Once we open, MDK will be present 7 days a week in three non competing locations in Brooklyn (Prospect Heights, Bed Stuy, and Williamsburg)
5. We are working on our branding as well, these sandwich boxes would look good at the shop, any pop up market, coffee shop and bar.
6. We are also getting booked for upcoming weddings next month and next year.
7. New Menu Items:
French Toast grilled cheese
Jalapeno popper, grilled cheese
Avocado, Bacon, tomato (pictured above)
Turkey Club with smoked gouda
Why haven't we opened yet?
We haven't had the best luck with contractors. Our initial contractor walked off the job with a significant amount of money. There were additional legal issues that costs us as well. I charge this to us earning our stripes. But in total it costs us $80K, and we are still in position to OPEN.
No one promised this journey will be easy but we are here! All of this is happening in real time....I am still grinding and working hard, and could use some help with operating capital.
Funding will go towards:
Equipmment: $5K
Operating capital: $10K
Please contact me for any questions or more details, thanks!
