A Mother's Day wish come true.

Christmas of 2015 was not going to be like any other Christmas, as for the first time in 17 years my Mum, Maureen was coming to stay with me and my family
from Bulgaria, where she had lived since 2013.

Unfortunately this wasn't to be, as a phone call from the British Consulate changed everything.

My mum had suffered a massive brain haemorrhage and a Stroke. We were informed that she was unconscious, paralyzed down one side and was in a critical state.

I flew out with my wife and Sister to Bulgaria straight away, to be by her side. The British Consulate in Bulgaria and the staff of the St Marina Hospital have been amazing with their support and care. The last email we received from the British Embassy explained that the St Marina Hospital administration has become insistent that my mum needs to be discharged and transferred to a hospice in Bulgaria or ideally repatriated back to the UK.

The vast expense of a medical repatriation is well beyond the means of my sister and I and we have therefore set up this page to help raise the £26,000 required to bring our mum, Maureen, with your kind donations back home.

The success of this GoFundMe page has given us all hope and we are so thankful for the generosity of those who have donated already but we are still a long way off such a huge total.

We all, especially the grandchildren so desperately want her back safely, in the UK so we can look after her.
