FBLA State Competition in Hershey

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a high school club at Julia R. Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School. Masterman is a School District of Philadelphia public school serving students from 5th through 12th grade.
FBLA students placed first in all of their categories in the regional competition and have qualified to attend the State Leadership conference where they will compete against students from across the state and attempt to qualify for nationals. The conference is located in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Unfortunately, due to budgetary constraints the School District of Philadelphia cannot financially support this trip. We are grateful to have our transportation costs covered by the district, but we are responsible for registration costs, hotel costs, and meals throughout the three-day conference.
Masterman students have a stellar reputation for being academic leaders locally, regionally, and nationally. Unfortunately, with their academic success comes the assumption that they are among the most wealthy. This is not the case. In fact, many of our students are economically disadvantaged and are overcoming great obstacles to achieve thier successes. Many are immigrants, first generation Americans, and first generation college goers. FBLA students simply do not have the money to pay for this trip out of pocket.
FBLA has been fundraising throughout the year to cover the cost of this trip. They have held bake sales, Gingerbread House competitions, Valentine's Day Candy Gram sales, and a semi-formal. Despite thier hard work, they still need help.
Please consider donating to Masterman's FBLA. The students will be forever grateful that you have helped support them as they learn and compete at the state level. Thank you!
