My Study Aboard to Japan

Hello!
My name is Manee Thao, I am currently a junior at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities campus. My major is Asian Languages and Literature, focusing in Japanese. This May (2014) I will be taking a 3-week 3-credit seminar on Holistic Healing in Japan. My class site visits are in Tokyo, Kyoto, Kamakura, and Hakone. I come from a low-income family I am looking for donations so I would not have to take huge loans for my May term Japan study aboard.
If you do choose to help donate to help fund for my study abroad, I will soon provide a link to an online blog or web-site where I will be documenting my experience and what I am learning in my classes during my study abroad from May 21st "“ June 11th. I do not attest to being the best at Japanese, but I can say I am truly passionate to learn, experience and understand the culture.
Personally, I've had an interest and odd strings of connection to Japan since I was young. From the first time watching Godzilla with my cousin, whom I have also made a pact to someday visit Japan with, to discovering the beloved pop culture otaku-fandom of anime and manga, to realizing my brothers also have some Japanese-y names"”I've come to believe growing up, a part of myself was drawn to it.
My goal is to reach $3000.00 because as this is only one course, a course I think has meaning as I will be learning and experiencing a traditional aspect of the Japanese culture and not the pop culture (or icons which I have mostly listed earlier), each credit equals roughly $500.00 (because I will not be taking a semester). I hope to use this money to cover the class expenses/pay off some of the loans which I will take (or hopefully so I don't have to take such extensive loans).
