hey guys! this is maria, and i guess most of you know me from tumblr, but if you don't know me - hi! i'm from brazil, i'm 23 years old and i'm here to tell you a story and ask for your help - and trust me, you can help us in a lot of ways, donating, just spreading the word, sending your love... we're accepting anything, really.
me and alex (who you probably know from tumblr as well) met on tumblr two years ago because i was (am) a huge fan of her work as a writer and she caught me on the act talking about the things she wrote like they were the best thing ever written in history (they are), like around february 2012, and due to several reasons we kind of just connected instantly. i can only describe it as a very sudden but powerful spark - we haven't been able to stop talking ever since, or to stop feeling like we're always about to burst if we don't get to meet soon and hang out and hug and kiss and do all that lame stuff people always talk about. this is probably the lamest thing i have ever written in my entire life, but definitely the truest; above anything, alex is my best friend, and one of the most important people in my life, and i don't really know what i would do with my life if i didn't get to have her by my side. she's helped me so much, more than she can imagine, and she always makes me smile - even when i'm terribly down and hopeless.
we've always talked about meeting each other and it has always meant a lot to me because i'd be fullfilling two of my biggest dreams, which are: going to england, i haven't stopped thinking about that since i was probably 10; and meeting the most special person to me, which is her. this year, i have finally graduated law school so i finally have the time to travel and do the things i want, so we thought: why not? then i ask myself: why the HECK not?
unfortunately, flights from my state to england are incredibly (trust me when i say that) expensive, because i happen to live in the middle of nowhere which increases the prices of the flights. i've been saving up, of course, but i still need a lot more, which is why i thought about posting this on tumblr to reach out as many people as we can. like i said, even if you can't donate - which is completely understandable since i think that people like us, between their 18s and maybe like 25s aren't doing so well when it comes to money - you can help us spread the word and turn this possibility into a realily. it would make us so, so happy, i can't even describe it. thank you for reading this, and for helping us the way you can - every single penny helps! plus remember that most currencies convert amazingly to mine (BRL) so you'd always be helping a lot more than you think. thank you!
