Maddie to Europe

Hello, I'm Maddie. When I was in third grade, I started to really enjoy ancient Greece. The more I learned about it, the more fascinated I grew. Then I started to learn about Rome, and I thought it'd be the most wonderful thing in the world to go to either of those places. In 9th grade, I took French class and started to learn a lot about the French culture, making me intrigued by how they lived and what they did.

So in late September when I got the letter for People to People, I was overwhelmed that they wanted me to attend the European Odyssey trip. So in October my mom and I attended the meeting for it, and I was so excited. I couldn't believe a program existed just to send kids overseas to amazing countries.

My mother and I had a long discussion on the way home. She told me that yes, she would love for me to go, but $8,000 was a little out of our price range. I told her I'd do anything, I'd get a job, I'd fundraise as much as I possibly could, I'd do anything. She finally agreed, knowing how much I wanted this. 

So here I am, trying to ask people to please help me make it to Europe. This has been my lifelong dream to travel the world, and now it's finally happening, but at a cost.
