Help Me Save Mabel

Hello, my name is Morgan I am a college student on break and now i'm back home with my family. A little over a year ago my brother (age 13) got a veiled chameleon from my dad. Her name is Mabel, and as you could've probably guessed a 12 year old who is mostly interested in video games hasn't really been taking the best care of this little girl. And now that I'm home now I can see that this is indeed the case.
Her health has been in decline for a while now. So I've decided to take care of her and hopefully be able to find a better home for her. But before I can do that I need to get her to a Vet, as soon as possible.
Mabel hadn't been eating for a while and after some research I figured it was a hunger strike prior to laying eggs. I was told to purchase Jump-Start Caloric Supplement & Appetite Stimulant (Zilla) from a fellow chameleon owner and she seemed to love it. I started feeding her that on the 9th and she appeared to be greatly improving, until yesterday morning. As I was misting her and preparing her food she began gaping her mouth and making weird noises, like gurgling, and then began to vomit 4 or 5 times. I was very concerned and did some research and now believe she has a respiratory infection and needs medical attention. I currently only have $5.31 to my name. I am in the interview process for a job at a restaurant in town. I've asked my parents for help and my dad believes spending any money on an animal that only cost $35 is a waste and we should just let her die. But I cannot, because this is a very treatable illness and if I have any chance to save her then I will do all I can. I am not entirely sure how much taking her to the vet will cost but through my research it should only be around $250 including the price of medicine.
I am willing to even take donations as a loan and will repay anyone who would like their money repaid when I can.
The local vet hospital will only take payments up front and do not offer a payment plan.
Please help me to save Mabel. How she has been treated is breaking my heart, and I can't watch her suffer for who know's how long until she dies in pain.
