THE COFFEE HOUSE has been in existence since 1967 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, and is the oldest continuosly running folk music coffee house in the country. We began, and continue, to operate as part of the ministry at Redeemer Lutheran, and offer a place where musicians, poets and spoken word performers can hone their craft. We present a monthly food pantry benefit, and also offer monthly Living Activism programs where all proceeds go to benefit local charities. The Coffee House is run by volunteers, and our operating costs are covered by door receipts and donations.
This is our 48th season providing performance opportunities for the Milwaukee community. While our sound equipment isn't that old, it is showing the wear and tear from years of use.
We are asking friends of The Coffee House to help us replace our aging equipment. If you are willing, and able, any amount offered would be greatly appreciated.
