Lakewood Theater Young Performers Camp
Henderson House Project

The Lakewood Young Perfomers Camp (LYPC) has been offering area youth the oppurtunity to learn, create and perform stagecraft since 1992.  On the grounds of Lakewood Theater, The State Theater of Maine, the LYPC offers 2 week summer day camp sessions, ending each session with a Saturday performance open to the general public.

The LYPC had been operating out of the original "Henderson House", a 24x30 outbuilding that was origianally used as living quarters for employees.

The building, over the years had fallen into a state of disrepair, and had become unsafe for the camper to use any longer.  The time had come to replace the building .

Enter The Borman Family Foundation.  This local endowment organization generously started our campaign with a $25,000 gift.  Pledging to match funds raised over and above their initial $25,000 pledge.

Work has begun on this project.  But we need your help to complete it.  We have raised and additional $17,000, with support from The Town of Madison, The Marti Stevens Memorial Trust Fund, and Dr. Alan and Stephanie Irwin being major contributors.

Curtain Up Enterprises is the Non Profit Organization (501 (c)3) that operates the Lakewood Theater and the LYPC, and your contribution is tax deductable.
